Swimming Gala

A World leading National Governing Body delivering excellence, inspiring our Nation to enjoy, participate, learn and compete in Welsh Aquatics.

Location: WNPS, Swansea

Swimming Gala Ambassador

Chloe Tutton

I’ve been swimming since before I can remember! Starting with family holidays playing in the pool in the sun. I’ve never been a fan of arm bands, so my mum (Claire Tutton) quickly came to learn the only way to keep me safe was to start swimming lessons. I had one-to-one swimming lessons with a lovely lady named Michelle Ireland at my local swimming pool at Ystrad Leisure Centre in Rhondda Valley. I swam for my school at many Urdd competitions and I had loads of fun taking part. I progressed quickly, and by the age of 12 I got scouted by the head coach at the time, David Haller, to swim with City of Cardiff Swimming Club.

While training I made loads of amazing friends and had the best times of my life! One of which was going to the Rio Olympic Games. Thanks to Graham Wardell, Dale Frantzeskou and the City of Cardiff – I wouldn’t have achieved these things without my family, friends, and coaches. And if I made my dream come true by going to the Olympics then why can’t you!

Good luck and remember to have fun!
